Why do we need you ?
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to support our transportation and distribution activities across all product lines in Canada.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring on-time, cost-effective delivery of products, while maintaining strong relationships with freight vendors and internal stakeholders. You will also contribute to improving logistics performance through data analysis, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation Planning & Execution
- Coordinate daily shipment planning, carrier selection, and freight tendering
- Secure transportation capacity while meeting customer and operational requirements
- Maintain high service levels, targeting at least 95% on-time pickup and delivery
Shipment Monitoring & Issue Resolution
- Track shipments and proactively manage exceptions or delays
- Resolve service and freight issues within 24–48 hours in collaboration with carriers and internal teams
- Escalate and implement corrective actions when needed
Systems & Operations
- Use logistics systems (TMS, ERP, CRM) to manage routing, scheduling, and shipment visibility
- Identify and troubleshoot system or process inefficiencies
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze logistics KPIs such as on-time performance, service levels, and freight costs
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend improvements
- Support reporting and ensure data integrity
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Finance teams
- Align on daily priorities and execute both standard and contingency plans
Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Support freight audits, claims, and accrual processes
- Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and improve carrier performance
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company standards
Projects & Additional Responsibilities
- Support and lead logistics-related improvement projects
- Document processes and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Provide training and guidance to internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in system implementations and network optimization initiatives (ERP, TMS, distribution design, etc.)

Is this job for you ?
Qualifications
Required:
- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Preferred:
- Experience in transportation, shipping, or working with freight carriers
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and freight compliance
- Experience with TMS systems (e.g., Manhattan or similar)
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Ability to analyze large datasets and translate insights into actions
- Exposure to multiple transportation modes (LTL, FTL, rail, ocean)
- CITT or similar supply chain designation
- Knowledge of customs compliance

Certain provinces require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates, the base pay for this position ranges from 60 000$ to 70 000$ per year. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to education, experience, skills and qualifications as they relate to the role. Fully qualified and experienced candidates will typically align near the midpoint. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 8% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
