Retail Sales Manager

  • Deliver results through implementing strong sales management practices in accordance with account management principles.
  • Directing retail sales team and self to build strong customer relationships which achieve sales targets in volume/mix, pricing, new business development and service standards.
  • Participate in the organisations common Policy Deployment goals and projects by working with cross functional team members and delivering on commitments.
  • Responsible for selling the range of Saint-Gobain solutions and new products, actively engaging with National Retail chains, Franchise retail outlets and Independent Merchants to achieve this.
  • Develop retail strategies within own region in order to identify and leverage the most profitable channels to service the market demand.
  • Drive and manage the usage of CRM as well as the implementation of E2 to further enhance both productivity and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with the Sales Policy by all commercial sales team members.
  • To take ownership for the demand planning process within the commercial channel and drive achievement of demand planning KPI’s.
  • Proactively identifying new opportunities for enhanced product offerings, uncovering and understanding these through application of trained techniques, supply chain knowledge, commercial awareness and in-depth knowledge of customers’ businesses.
  • Lead regional teams ensuring good performance management principles, providing on-going feedback and development opportunities to each individual to realise their full potential and in support of succession plans.

Is this job for you ?

We are seeking a candidate that has a minimum matric and Bachelor of Commerce Degree and at least five years of experience in a Key Accounts planning & equivalent industry experience, it is essential that the candidate has strong customer facing experience as well. At least three years management experience is required. The role requires strong commercial awareness – ability to identify opportunities and action. Proven technical competence – understanding of technical concepts and ability to translate for commercial benefit and excellent track record & knowledge of retail account’s planning and execution.
