BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to strengthen our commercial presence and drive strategic account development across global accounts and the Italian market within the Energy sector. This role plays a key part in supporting the company’s growth ambitions in Energy, with direct impact on revenue development and strategic customer relationships. It sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, technical expertise, and international project coordination, supporting customers with engineered solutions across a diverse portfolio of polymer, metal, and composite products.
The position is based in Milan, involves frequent travel within Italy and occasional international travel.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and grow a portfolio of strategic global and regional accounts, with direct responsibility for revenue development and long-term partnership building
- Drive business development across global accounts and local Italian markets, expanding market share in energy-related sectors (O&G, LNG/cryogenics, power generation, etc.);
- Promote and sell a multi-product portfolio of engineered sealing, like material solutions (polymer, metal, composite), typically within long and complex sales cycles;
- Conduct regular customer visits to existing and new prospect to understand commercial and technical needs, promote solutions, and ensure high customer satisfaction;
- Coordinate technical development projects, acting as the interface between customers, engineering teams, and multiple manufacturing sites (Europe, North America, Asia);
- Ensure effective end-to-end sales execution and process coordination between the Milan sales office and multiple manufacturing sites, including quoting, order management, delivery follow-up, and after-sales support, while ensuring alignment with customer expectations and timelines;
- Lead or contribute to commercial contract negotiation and development, engaging with multiple stakeholders (manufacturing, engineering, management);
- Perform market analysis to identify trends, competitive positioning, and new business opportunities;
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans aligned with company objectives;
- Represent the company at international trade shows and industry events.
Success in this role will be measured by revenue growth, expansion and retain of key accounts, and successful execution of complex international projects.
Is this job for you ?
What we are looking for:
- Experienced business developer or sales professional with a strong background in industrial B2B environments, ideally within engineered solutions sectors;
- Proven track record in key account management and international business development, managing complex and strategic customers;
- Experience with long sales cycles and value-based selling of engineered or customized solutions;
- Good understanding of the Energy ecosystem (EPCs, OEMs, operators) is a strong advantage;
- Comfortable working with technical products and engaging with engineering teams and customer technical stakeholders;
- Strong ability to manage complex, multi-site projects across different regions and cultures;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders;
- Analytical and strategic thinker, capable of translating market insights into actionable plans;
- Willingness to travel frequently;
- Fluent in Italian and English (mandatory).
