The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating and monitoring manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality cellulose-based products. This role supports daily production goals by ensuring efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-6:00pm. Some Saturdays
Compensation: $16.00/hour

Essential Duties:

Performing tasks such as adding paper to a conveyor belt, receiving finished bags of material, and getting them ready for palletizing.
Operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Perform material handling and packaging of cellulose products
Conduct routine quality checks to ensure products meet ICC specifications
Perform basic troubleshooting and assist with equipment maintenance
Follow all safety guidelines, including PPE requirements and hazard awareness
Participate in housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and organized work environment (5S)
Support continuous improvement initiatives and team-based problem-solving
Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and team members regarding production status or issues
Follow all OSHA and company safety policies
Participate in safety meetings and training
Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately
Actively contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Work Environment:

Industrial manufacturing setting
Exposure to cellulose materials, dust, and moving machinery

High school diploma or GED required
Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety rules, and production schedules

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 30-40 lbs regularly
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the shift
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (dust, noise, temperature variations)
Ability to wear required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, shoes, etc.)
