Senior Research Scientist/Engineer I - GCP

The Senior Research Scientist/ Engineer I designs and conducts independent, accurate and defensible scientific R&D activities to evaluate and improve performance/cost of existing products, develop new products, and/or provide analytical and technical support to existing technologies and new product development. Prepares comprehensive documented observations, analysis, and interpretations of results, including technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses.

ROLE SUMMARY

• Manage all technical aspects of new product development, including assessment and evaluation of new ideas, development and testing of prototypes and field testing, identify opportunities for the development of technologies for the benefit of the commercial building and infrastructure product line, and working with the global research team.

• Writes clear reports and routinely gives presentations on research and development results to internal and external audiences.
• Communicates with Marketing, Plant, Tech Service, and Sales personnel as needed.
• Engages frequently with customers, suppliers, and GCP partners.
• Proposes new projects for R&D, productivity projects, or process/method enhancement.
• Innovates by providing novel solutions or new product concepts based on scientific principles.
• Contributes to patent protection of ideas
• Develops new test methods or procedures and validates the results.
• Maintains and troubleshoots lab instruments and field equipment in area of focus.
• Ensures JSAs and SOPs for all equipment and operations are up to date.
• Other duties in the department or site-wide committees as assigned

• Project leadership including project management, team collaboration, and oral and written communication skills are required.
• Must possess a body of technical work commensurate with their years of experience
• Demonstrated knowledge in HSE.
