Reporting to the Siding HR Director, the HR Manager participates on the plant leadership team to promote positive employee experience and our mission to generate Trust, Collaboration and Empowerment.  The HR Manager has responsibilities for all aspects of HR, recruiting, employee relations, training, data analysis, new employee on-boarding and the day-to-day execution of HR policies, processes, and procedures as well as processing Payroll, Benefit, and Leave Management responsibilities.  Management responsibilities.  While the HR Manager will have support from the corporate office and robust tools and systems, this is an opportunity for a data-driven individual with a bias for action


  • Responsible for management of Human Resources and Payroll functions.
  • Lead WCM People Development Pillar.
  • With management and supervision, promote a positive employee relations culture.
  • Counsel, coach, and guide supervisors on addressing employee performance concerns.
  • Lead proactive approach to employee engagement: Maintain visible shop floor presence and solicit ongoing employee feedback to address issues ahead of time and facilitate resolution of HR topics.
  • Manage and guide supervisors on disciplinary processes to ensure consistent and fair application.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain HR related policies and procedures as changes or needs occur.
  • Work force planning: Oversee staffing processes in compliance with company and federal/state laws. 
  • Manage contingency labor processes including vendor management to ensure effectiveness in supporting needs of the business. 
  • Plan & conduct and/or oversee onboarding processes.
  • Coordinate all Key HR and Plant Communications Systems – evaluate communication mediums and content.  Ensure information is effectively disseminated in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee benefit program administration and troubleshooting, conduct open enrollment training and new employee education and enrollment. 
  • Lead Wellness initiatives to promote plant-wide participation.
  • Active Participant in the Plant Work Life Committee.
  • On Call Plant Team Member.
  • Manage Community Charitable Contribution Program.
  • With management team, develop location activities to promote safety, wellness and employee recognition.
  • Develop with management retention strategies related to employee turnover.
  • Ensure site supervision receives training/development to be effective leaders in the organization.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and development for 2 direct reports.


  • Aid in developing and delivering on-going site (Diversity, Sexual Harassment, Conflict Resolution, Coaching, Team Building, Safety, DISC, Code of Ethics policies, etc.)
  • Oversee and/or conduct new hire training related to plant policies, procedures, Golden Rules
  • Oversee & audit tracking to ensure employees meet all training requirements and certifications for the positions held.  

LEAVE MANAEMENT                 

  • FMLA, STD, LTD policy oversight, coordination and communications with employees and supervisor as well as third-party benefits administrator. 
  • Requires tracking and follow up to ensure policy compliance, documentation, and employees are paid in accordance with the schedule.
  • Assess return to work restrictions and determine reasonable accommodation provisions available in accordance with ADAAA.



  • BA or BS, or equivalent experience in HR/Safety management or related field required.
  • 4-7 years’ experience as an HR Manager, generalist with emphasis on Employee Relations and Communications.
  • Strong PC skills, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems are required.
  • Have the desire and willingness to obtain and maintain necessary HR Certification work as on-going professional development.
