Description du poste

Reporting into the Hot End Manager, the main role of the VIE Process Engineer is to optimise the plant processes. Throughout the development, he will ensure process stability and product quality are maintained, eventually resulting in optimised operational costs.

This will be achieved through the use of but not exhaustive of day to day troubleshooting to build-up understanding of the process, continuous improvement tools and techniques and completion of projects from the plant single agenda.

In addition, the VIE Process Engineer will also strongly support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) leading to improved technical knowledge / skills for all operators.




• Degree educated (Chemical / Process Engineering), ideally Master’s degree

• A 1st experience (internship / other) in a manufacturing environment, preferably continuous process industry, ideally glass industry

• 1st experience ideally includes management of change and use of WCM / TPM / Lean / Six Sigma tools and techniques

• High degree of numeracy and analytical skills, using data analysis and statistics to identify plant losses and root cause analysis.

· Excellent personal skills enabling positive relationships to be developed with all key stakeholders

  • Actively contribute to plant EHS objectives through reporting of unsafe acts / conditions and environmental concerns
  • Carry out process checks around the site to ensure optimal process settings are being followed. This involves creating, updating and checking SOP’s as well as operators’ understanding and execution of these.
  • Perform technical analysis of manufacturing / process data and carry out resulting action plan to improve processes and meet customer expectations.
  • Continually develop recommendations to enhance manufacturing capabilities/ efficiencies through new ideas and /or methods.
  • Deliver improvement projects as project leader to reduce downtime, reduce waste and optimise production costs, using World class manufacturing (WCM) tools / techniques as / when required.
  • Execute projects / take part in working groups to fulfil department goals and objectives in the areas of cost reduction, productivity gains, process flow, capacity increase, scrap reduction and process and product enhancements.
  • Assess processes, standardise process settings, taking measurements and interpreting data. Designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes.
