Process Engineer

¿Por qué te necesitamos?

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Process Engineer to lead certification efforts, optimize manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement projects. This role is critical to ensuring product compliance, standardizing engineering and production workflows, and supporting cross-functional collaboration across departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Certifications:

  • Oversee the entire certification process for both current and new products, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.
  • Collaborate with third-party testing agencies, engineering, and quality teams to ensure certification documentation is accurate and maintained.

Process & Production Optimization:

  • Plan, organize, evaluate, and oversee the activities and operations of the engineering department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Standardize product operations across all stages of development and production to ensure consistent manufacturing results.
  • Conduct time studies, process flow evaluations, and ergonomic assessments to recommend improvements that increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Create, maintain, audit, and continuously improve Process Flow Documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with best practices.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the Customer Service and Sales teams by providing support for new orders, product configurations, and engineering change requests; visit customers as required for technical assessments.
  • Lead investigations of process-related manufacturing deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with Production and Quality teams.
  • Ensure the Bill of Materials (BoM) is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with current production and engineering standards.
  • Manage capital projects involving the acquisition, installation, and commissioning of new machinery, equipment, and tooling; prepare and submit Capital Expenditure (Capex) requests.
  • Support the Purchasing Department by identifying new suppliers, participating in technical discussions, and evaluating supplier capabilities and timelines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by applying World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles to daily operations and long-term initiatives.
  • Actively participate in plant safety programs and maintain a working knowledge of safety standards and practices.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certificate is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality management.
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations and certification requirements.
  • Experience in process improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment while effectively collaborating within a cross-functional team.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to visit customers to understand quality issues.
  • Ability to travel internationally for training as required.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work in a World Class Manufacturing Environment – WCM
  • Permanent, full time position
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to remain standing, crouching or bending for long periods of time.
  • Ability to support the plant on a 24/7 basis in emergency situations.
  • Must be able to wear mandated personal protective equipment.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
