Why do we need you ?
- Ensure implementation, control, and management of all EHS systems at the Gyproc Brakpan factory.
- Ensure Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental systems are in compliance
- Ensure that ISO/OSHAS standards are maintained and corrective actions implemented.
- Monitoring compliance of OHS systems and ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ensure recommendations or deviations are closed out promptly.
- Co-ordinate and update SHERQ system files including contractor management.
- Ensure monthly and quarterly SHERQ reports are compiled timeously.
- Ensure that all SHERQ surveys are conducted and actions followed through to completion in conjunction with the Quality & Environmental Systems Manager.
- Ensure that incident and accident investigations are done, registers updated and corrective actions implemented.
- Ensure incident and accident statistics are updated.
- Ensure that SMAT/EMAT audits are being conducted and actions followed through.
- Ensure Annual PPE is issued to all employees
- Improve systems processes use in the Factory to tangibly change the safety culture leading to informed compliance by employees. This is done by conducting systems self-check audits.
- From analysed data of Health, Safety and Environmental checklists and audits to identify, plan and organise training to instill compliance of Safety, Health and Environmental processes.
Is this job for you ?
The ideal candidate must have a completed Matric and possess a minimum Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent, SAMTRAC or equivalent. Must have experience with ISO 9001/14001/45001 Implementation and Internal auditing. The ideal candidate must also have strong computer literacy skills.

The purpose of the role is to ensure employees have an understanding of working safely and in accordance with Safety, Health, Risk, and Environmental procedures, comply with Saint-Gobain standards and ESH Policy. Follow SHEAR procedures when operating and provide training continuously to validate and enforce the importance of Safety, Health and Environment to all employees. Coordinate incident and accident investigation as well as site Risk activities.
