Position description


2nd shift 2:00PM to 10:30PM

3rd Shift: 10:00PM to 6:30AM

Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment (robots, conveyors, etc…), using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments. Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.  Starts devices to test their performance. Lubricates and cleans parts. May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Repairs electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Installs electrical services from sub panels or junction boxes to equipment. Performs facility related repairs and maintenance to building electrical, plumbing and safety systems.

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoots by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove and replace defective parts by properly dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Follow up on maintenance requests or problems as reported.
  • Promote and be a part of the continuous improvement activities to enhance process operations and equipment.
  • Performs needed facility related troubleshooting and repairs to electrical, plumbing and safety systems.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as directed by supervisor.



High School Diploma  General Education, related field

BS, Degree Engineering or related fields Preferred

3+ year  Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.  Preferred

1+ year Mechanical aptitude and advanced skills in one or more of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.  Preferred

Familiarity with basic manufacturing equipment such as calipers, thread gauges and compactors

Experience working in a strong safety culture

Ability to climb stairs and ladders

Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and repair equipment

PLC programming (Siemens 7 or equivalent)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

Operation of electrical testing equipment

Ability to effectively manage time and meet scheduled deadlines

Background supporting robotics (ABB, Fanuc or equivalent).

Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required (high school diploma or equivalent)

Excellent communication skills

Forklift Certification

Certification or Electrical permit required, and advanced degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
