With the support of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Engineer will be responsible to:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 certifications for our Garden Grove, CA facility.
- Perform benchmark audits (gap analysis) within the business unit and coordinate corrective actions
- Analyze all company KPIs and request for new ones where a gap may exist.
- Hold training sessions with Management and Supervisor Teams in presenting the quality vision and mission statement as well as to present Internal Audit results
- Leads the participation of Agile projects during corrective action (8D), root cause analysis Responsible for monitoring the performance of warehouse activities, from receiving, supplying product, return of product (RMA)
- Other Duties as assigned
Bacherlos Degree on Engineering or ralted field required
3-5+ years Related Manufacturing Industry experience
2+ years Quality experience in high intensity manufacturing environment
2+ years Training or experience in statistical analysis and Statistical Process Control is required.
5+ years Lean Manufacturing experience
4+ years Must have industry-recognized quality certification ISO 9001, ISO/TS:16949, Self-Release Delegate, CQI, CQT, or equivalent.
Reviews urgent matters regarding Receiving Inspection or Quarantined Inventory and follows through to a satisfactory disposition.
Maintains receiving inspection and vendor’s status and Quality Performance
Collects, reports and maintains nonconforming material records from both, internal and external sources.
Prepares supplier performance reports.
Facilitates the training of individuals doing outside work or rework/sorting of nonconforming product.
Schedules outside work or rework activities to meet priorities based on the
Stages materials for outside work or rework as required.
Monitors completed reworked parts.
Effectively controls all non-conforming raw material.
First article updating of final audit history cards, evaluation of customer returned material and compiling inserts & resins materials electronically or data for submission with shipments. Maintains Certificates of Analysis/Conformance for

Follow up on corrective actions in production line of any issues brought up by the client
Apply the 5S methodology
Follow the EHS rules and regulations pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment and SG’s Environmental policies.
Verify all instruments of measurement are calibrated and used appropriately

Bring the company to Quality standard compliance.
Review quality information; including scrap, first pass yields, and complaints; to develop and prioritize action plans to improve product quality. Solicit feedback from Product and CRS to identify strategic quality improvement opportunities.
Executes quality projects; utilizing tools like Design of Experiments and Statistical Process Control.
Analyzes process variations; develops solutions and implements corrective actions by using advanced statistical tools in identifying and resolving the root causes of the variations in the process.
Review, manage, and respond to customer quality complaints. Integrate actions into quality improvement plan
Develop and maintain process and product specifications to ensure material is produced consistently to meet customer requirements; utilize Statistical Process Control methods.
Automate quality data collection throughout the process.
Routinely review process data and develop actions to reduce variation.
Work with Plant Process Engineer to investigate and troubleshoot anomalies
Promote activities that foster a proactive safety culture
Provides technical direction to less experienced professionals within the business.
Shares best practices and interacts with other Saint-Gobain locations.
Documents and communicates progress of work.
Completes continuous education on emerging technologies relevant to role and responsibilities.
