Position description

In a safe manner operate and maintain various types of measuring/manufacturing equipment/hand tools efficiently. Using a handheld device, register glass defects with photos to match our inspection criteria. Understand the importance of standardizing line operations and coordinate with the Quality Technician to Audit the lines daily for inconsistencies Coordinate with the Quality Technician to Audit the lines. The document reviews place disposition to the glass while complying with all safety, quality, and 5S/housekeeping standards • Inspect and record defective glass as instructed to ensure conformance to quality requirements. Including stopping the production line with the approval of the Production Supervisor if the QA II is not available. • Handling and applying chemicals directly to the glass in specific areas • Allocating components on glass surface according to specifications • Adhering according to specifications • Utilizing all established PPE at all times. • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; informing supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs, and adhering to all safety procedures and regulations. • Maintain assigned work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping requirements • Other duties as assigned 40% • Record and document glass defects accurately and physically move defective glass for disposition/scrap (must be able to lift at least 45Lbs) • Understand glass inspection criteria to ensure conformance to quality requirements. • Assure the SOP process is being followed on all stations and alert Quality Technicians when deviations occur. 40% • Assist Receiving inspection to record data and alert Quality Engineer/Receiving Inspector when Supplier manufacturing does not conform to required specifications. 15% Use and record data through the Checking Fixture equipment. Careful use and maintenance of equipment by completing simple preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; informing supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs; and adhering to all safety procedures and regulations. + Train end-of-the-line inspectors when their criteria do not align to our Inspection Criteria 5% Maintain assigned work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required (Technical degree welcome) • 1+ year prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. • 1+ year of previous experience using inspection equipment and following quality procedures preferred • Familiarity with basic manufacturing equipment such as calipers, thread gauges, and compactors preferred • Experience working in a strong safety culture preferred Safety and Physical Demands: Physical demands include but are not limited to: • constant visual inspection, measuring/assembly at close distance. • Receiving detailed information by nonverbal means. • Pushing pulling lifting up to 45 lbs. • Standing and walking for extended periods of time. • Working primarily with fingers, repetitive motions, substantial movement the wrists, hands, and or fingers. • Repetitive motions, twisting and turning. • Dealing with constant equipment in motion. • Always wearing safety equipment, and dealing with high noise levels.
