Position description

The CNC Machinist provides machining expertise and operation of machining equipment for Boron Nitride products.  The position is responsible for the efficient utilization of material and inventory for machined products.  Responsibility also includes reporting inventory, machining yields, and other data as required.  Major criteria for successful performance are machining ability and equipment utilization, initiative, innovativeness, practically, organization, efficiency, knowledge, and adaptability.

  • Must have ability to run CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment at close tolerances efficiently. 
  • Must have programming experience, proficiency using CAM software preferred.
  • Ability to maintains accurate and detailed records regarding work orders. 
  • Ability to trouble-shooting equipment, problem, and correct when needed. 
  • Has knowledge of MRP system as it relates to machining department requirements. 
  • Must work safely using proper machine guarding. 
  • Ability to work others duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A High School diploma or equivalent is required along with machining experience within a machining manufacturing environment.

Journeyman certification is not required, but is a plus.

Must be able to run various mills, CNC equipment and programs, and have the ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day along machining equipment, make minor adjustments to equipment. Ability to walk distances in the plant (up to 90,000 SF), and climb stairs to the second floor machine shop. Additionally, must be able to push, pull, bend or lift up to 60 pounds of product.
