The Facilities Specialist is responsible for the repair, maintenance and documentation of work performed to support the facility infrastructure through multiple trades including but not limited to electrical, carpentry/general construction, light plumbing, painting, installations, and troubleshooting. In this role you will perform reactive and preventative maintenance activities, support maintenance technicians through hands-on application, document usage of spare parts inventory; monitor, maintain and purchase spare parts inventory of replacement components, as well as many others throughout the facility when requested. This includes responding to facility requests via work orders, phone calls, paging and email communications.
This position requires a candidate who is extremely organized with good communication skills, and is detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently work at heights while fixing internal and external items in elevated locations. The employee must wear a hearing protection, protective mask, gloves, and goggles and any other PPE specific to the task(s) being performed.
Daily requirements include, but are not limited to, conducting rounds focusing on safety-related issues; entering items into Gensuite system as needed. Observe opportunities to improve safety, effiency, and reliability with supervisors or operators; diagnose problems and repairs; bring facility infrastructure and environment within SG safety guidelines. Secure facility and equipment in case of emergency or crisis situations. Ensure exterior safety of the facility Maintain shop cleanliness, in accordance with company 5S policy and guidelines. Observe and enforce all safety rules, working conditions and habits of employees
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
- Certificate in Industrial Maintenance (Preferred)
- 4+ years working experience in a similiar role
- 4+ yrs eperience with Electrical, Carpentry/General Construction, Light plumbing, Painting, Installations, and Troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate through written, oral, and electronic means
- Knowledge of GD&T/Data Intergrity (Preferred)
- Ability to know and understand the quality and safety policies
- Ability to develope basic word and excel documents (Preferred)
