Saint-Gobain is seeking an experienced 2nd shift Fabrication Lead Manufacturing Associate to lead a team of skilled fabricators in the construction of Radomes.  Our SHEERGARD radomes for the ground based market are manufactured with high strength, flexible composites for air-supported and tensioned antenna covers, or with rigid sandwich construction for self-supporting applications.  They are proven to offer maximum protection, superior performance and high reliability. Whether it is a 100 ft diameter system for a large SATCOM terminal, a 59 ft diameter for an air traffic system, or a 4 ft cover for a point-to-point microwave link, the SHEERGARD team has the design, manufacturing and installation expertise to handle the complete project. Our Radomes are found all over the world protecting the radar systems that protect the country!  See more about our radomes and 5G products here:

The Lead is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the air-supported radomes area, to include assisting fabricators and others with problem resolution related to product processing, product quality, and equipment, while minimizing waste. 

The Lead will demonstrate exemplary behavior by conforming to the Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct and Action, Saint-Gobain Attitudes, EHS Standards/Requirements, Quality Standards and Saint-Gobain Policies and procedures.  Additionally, they will:

  • Enforce all the above on the production floor through proper training, coaching and monitoring

  • Reinforces a positive image of Saint-Gobain and ensures management is aware of potential concerns/issues with employee population

  • Ensure an inclusive work environment for all

The Lead will be responsible for assisting with process improvements and record-keeping, ensuring processes are accurately followed and identify and recommend changes to improve processes, reduce down-time, and maintain high quality/safety standards.  They are involved in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives and projects related to improvements, such as 5S, Visual Factory, Kanban, etc.

The Lead will provide leadership and support to production personnel, other leads and supervision as needed.  They will assist with training, perform troubleshooting, support Design of Experiments (DOE) and Corrective Action Programs.  They identify, record and report non-conformance conditions (DMR), analyze, provide root cause and corrective action.

  • 1+ years experience as a lead in a production or construction environment (or 3 years as a fabricator) - required

  • 1+ year completing computerized transaction in ERP/MRP system, preferably QAD/Factivity - required

  • 2+ years blueprint reading - required

  • 1+ Good record, with no active disciplinary action (for current employees) - required

  • Strong technical knowledge of fabrication and troubleshooting skills - required

  • Strong understanding of specifications and tolerances as it relates to fabricating, measuring tools and mathematical calculations - required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude - required

  • Ability to or be trained to operate forklift, overhead crane, perform Lock-out/Tag-Out and work in confined spaces - required

  • Must be reliable and dependable with a strong sense of integrity and urgency in the work - required

  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills to work with people at all levels and across different shifts - required

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs - required
