Position description

The Facilities Engineering Manager will plan, direct, and manage manufacturing machinery and facility services including building and operating systems maintenance, repair and improvement and custodial services.  This individual will also review and establish operating procedures, practices, and priorities that obtain optimum utilization of personnel and/or equipment while maintaining safety standards, budgetary expenditures, and efficiencies.

This position assumes a leadership role on the WCM Reliability Pillar, leads the 5S Program, manages the annual CAPEX program for the plant –and/or multi-site projects and is a member of the site Leadership Team.  This position requires extensive Project Management skills including solid experience in leading multi-million-dollar complex projects.  You’ll have the opportunity to utilize your strategic mindset in order to identify and lead projects and improvements that will support future business growth and sustainability.  In this role, you are responsible for establishing an engaging and customer centric maintenance team while improving operational performance.  This person will identify technical needs and opportunities, constantly research technology and assess fit and relevance to the site.


Do you have a minimum of a BS degree in an Engineering discipline; MS or MBA preferred?  Our ideal candidate is RCRA certified with 5-8 years’ experience managing people and functions in a manufacturing environment and has 5-8 years’ experience working with a computerized maintenance management system or computer-aided facilities management system.  As well, at least 5 years’ experience in planning/scheduling maintenance facilities and procurement processes and working knowledge of TQM techniques/Lean/SixSigma and/World Class Manufacturing methodologies in a manufacturing environment is required.  Certified Facilities Managers are preferred.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills including electrical, mechanical and PLC
  • Familiarity with local building codes, OSHA regulations
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand and interpret technical manuals
  • Strong overall computer skills using Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical problem solving skills using root-cause analysis (such as 5 Why’s) and critical thinking
  • Team player mentality with ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Detail-oriented approach
