Position description

Operator I - 2nd Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday)

The Operator I is responsible for producing high quality plated bearings for the automotive industry, taking direction and utilizing written procedures, work routers, written and verbal communication and operating equipment in a safe, environmentally responsible manner.

Essential Functions: What You Do Matters

  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations as required
  • Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS program
  • Keep a clean work environment in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions on improvement opportunities
  • Handle raw material and hazardous waste safely and in an environmentally responsible manner
  • Assist in identification of potential aspects and impacts to the environment; participate in activities (such as recycling) to minimize adverse environmental impacts
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Work from written procedures and work routers
  • Follow instructions and procedures carefully
  • Record data, record and report problems as they arise



Who You Are Matters

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Trade school or Associate Degree preferred
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • 6+ months of working in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Knowledge of safety procedures is required
  • Effective verbal/written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a self-directed team setting and ability to solve problems

  • Vision - Ability to view/see parts for visual inspection and measuring
  • Reading and Writing - Expressing or receiving detailed information by nonverbal means
  • Bend/Stoop/Kneel/Crouch - Requires use of the lower extremities and back muscles 
  • Standing/Walking - Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Finger/Grasp/Handle/Feel - Working primarily with fingers
  • Talk/Hear - Expressing or receiving detailed information by means of spoken word
  • Repetitive Motions - Substantial movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Working in above ambient temperatures
