Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, the Extrustion Shift Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of safety, production and quality for the shift assigned within the extrusion department.

The successful candidate will oversee one production shift in accordance with QMS & EHS requirements with a strong focus on safety.  This position will support other production shifts as needed.  Will support the Production Manager in engaging, leading, setting expectations & assessing performance of direct labor.  Understand and execute the role as leader in production.  Competed other related projects as assigned.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise, direct, lead and coordinate the day to day shift operations of production activities.
  • Coach and develop production shift personnel, using data to review and prep for safe, quality, production goals.
  • Work with engineering and maintenance on new products, new processes, process enhancements and repairs.
  • Actively participate in our Behavioral Based Safety Program and lead shifts and teams in active engagement of the program.
  • Working in conjuction with the production scheduling department, schedule and assign priorities of the shift.
  • Utilize the current skill sets of the staff effectively to meet production levels.
  • Deliver guidance and training of the shift to develop their skill sets to the next level.
  • Ensure the shift achieves the targeted production goals and works to increase efficiences, realized with a focus on Safety and Quality first.


  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree desired.  Successful and applicable work experience is acceptable in place of formal degree.
  • 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and/or WCM methodologies including team leadership preferred.
  • Solid organizational skills, decision making skills and a demonstrated capacity to develop and implement practical strategies, plans and solutions to identified issues and problems.
  • Working knowlege of ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements preferred.
