Position description

The Machine Operator - Injection Molding performs basic operation of equipment/machinery; inspects product and documents results per work order/drawing requirements. Runs production safely and consistently measuring all critical areas per sample lot size. Utilizes hand tools to deburr, de-gate, or polish and package all production in accordance with the router steps and stamps off operations before moving to the next operation. Maintains 5s work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift.  Role may include other supporting tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor or Lead.


Essential Functions:

  • Reads blueprint drawings, work orders and other written materials to understand customer specifications and requirements for producing their parts to ensure conformance to quality requirements by using measurement gauges such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparator.  Prepares any required documentation.
  • Inspects parts Operates production equipment such as CNC lathes and mills to produce or process parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, without rejection, in a fast paced work environment.
  • Meets ongoing production quotas while working within very close tolerances in a machine-shop production environment.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; informing supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs; and adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains assigned work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles and housekeeping requirements.
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Lead. 


  • HS diploma or GED certificate
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written materials including blueprint drawings, job orders, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with other team members and leads.
  • Good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Familiarity with basic manufacturing machinery and equipment and 1 year prior manufacturing work experience, preferred.
  • Ability to properly use inspection equipment such as calipers, thread guages and comparators.
  • One year prior experience using inspection equipment and following quality procedures preferred.
  • Basic computer and math skills.


  • Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and program equipment.
  • Good vision to read written materials and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
