CNC Programmer Manufacturing, 1st Shift; Bristol, RI

Hours: 8am to 4pm, Monday thru Friday

$31.00 to $42.00 an hour

We’re seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes—including live‑tool platforms—to support high‑precision manufacturing. In this role you will create G/M code and CAM‑generated programs, partner with machinists during setups and prove‑outs, ensure compliance with GD&T and revision control, and drive continuous improvement.

Success in this role requires strong print reading, G/M‑code editing, CAM fundamentals, tooling knowledge, and the ability to support both milling and turning operations. Experience with Haas, Mori Seiki, Okuma, or Mazak machines is highly valued as well as experience with thermoplastics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to follow written procedures and work routers accurately.
  • Skills in making and modifying tooling as necessary.
  • Ability to train and mentor co-workers on CNC machine operations and inspection techniques.
  • A keen eye for maintaining drawing specifications by monitoring for dimensional and visual accuracy.
  • Collaborate with CNC programmers and operators to improve setup times and part quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of setups, tooling requirements, and part specifications.
  • Dedication to performing preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure longevity and efficiency.
  • Read work orders to understand and meet customer specifications.
  • Ability to maintain drawing specifications by monitoring dimensional and visual characteristics to detect non-conformances.
  • Keep a clean work environment in accordance with company policy and 5S procedures.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions on improvement opportunities
  • Report defective material or equipment problems to the lead or engineer, as directed.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting with little or no supervision
  • Contribute to the team by performing other duties as needed

Is this job for you ?

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in performing set-ups for CNC Machining for both Mills and Lathes (Required).

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in programming CNC Machining for both Mills and Lathes (Required).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Mastercam Certification or a similar program is preferred
  • Experience working in with high-mix, low-volume production environment.
  • Experience in dismantling jigs, tools, and special fixtures.
  • Proficiency in using measuring equipment like micrometers and calipers.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Must have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance, and flexibility to work overtime as needed

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $64,480 to $87,360 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 5% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $67,704 to $91,728. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
