The Facilities and Engineering technician will support the objectives of production through the maintenance function by carrying out routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems for production and facilities equipment. Also, will be responsible for monitoring building/environmental management system, installation of new equipment, maintaining inventory for parts/equipment, and housekeeping as it pertains to the maintenance parts and maintenance shop. They will be responsible for conducting contractor safety training and supervising maintenance and facility contractors when assigned. Facilities and Engineering Technician will also issue purchase order requests for repair parts and assure proper maintenance of stock items required to perform the general responsibilities of this position.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Primary resource to perform hands-on maintenance tasks according to set maintenance priorities including repairing and troubleshooting all process equipment and systems for the facility.
  • Will administer and monitor contractor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and recommendations for further action and assists with shutdown task planning and scheduling.
  • Maintain the Maintenance Department work area and other maintenance parts areas. Clean-up after each task and on a daily basis and performs care for tools and proper storage.
  • Proactively work with site production and engineering personnel towards safe and timely issue resolution, to improve equipment reliability and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Work with vendors/OEM to obtain parts, pricing, and repair recommendations for process equipment and systems.
  • Advocate for and adheres to safe work practices, executes and documents work in accordance to standard operating procedures and cGMP requirements.
  • Work in a manner that is safe while continuously ensuring quality, production, and performance expectations are met.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (Preferred)

Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing/industrial setting (Required)
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and HVAC equipment/systems
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with technical writing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as equipment manuals, specifications, and electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Previous experience working on injection molding presses, laser systems, heat sealing machines, CNC machines, and/or Air-Handling Units (Preferred)
