POSITION SUMMARY (What are the end results or objectives of this position and who benefits?)

Responsible for performing safe and efficient operation and proper maintenance of specified production equipment within the manufacturing facility. Assists Team Coordinator in daily duties to assure that production and efficiency goals are met. May operate slitter, creaser, roto-gravure process, O41, clip-notcher and clipping equipment on a rotational basis

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY (What functions and responsibilities does this position perform to achieve the above summary?)

  • Reviews the schedule of what will be run during the course of the shift along with materials inventory information of supplies that need to be restocked. Conducts actual visual inventory of material supplies on site and notifies the Operations Supervisor of material requisitions either verbally or in written form.
  • Organizes and communicates daily employee and equipment work schedule assignments. Makes adjustments to schedules and assignments to insure proper staffing levels to accomplish shift production goals.
  • Interacts with all team members to assist them in achieving defined objectives and goals for production and product quality.
  • Reports any work process or equipment breakdowns and malfunctions to the Maintenance department. Will follow through checking on reasons for delays on equipment repairs so that necessary adjustments can be made to production schedules.
  • Completes all shift paperwork that tracks production rates for all manufacturing equipment operating during the shift. Records information on equipment malfunctions or problems associated with materials that may have affected manufacturing totals.
  • Records and monitors employee work hours and absences.
  • Ensures all employees are working in compliance of a safe and clean environment, along with daily exercises, to help prevent on the job injuries
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs side work activities such as making glue, loading and unloading ovens.
  • Provides break relief duties to other employees assigned to the shift.

 MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED (List specific edu

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • A minimum of  3 years experience in all phases of the manufacturing processes. 
  • Certification on all equipment and work processes within manufacturing. 
  • Additional course work in the use of a computer and software packages, in addition to leadership training, and principles of motivation techniques.

Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards, whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require bending, lifting materials weighing up to 50 lbs., twisting, gripping, and stair climbing. Regular work in ambient temperatures (30 – 100°F), dusty conditions due to fiberglass or in confined spaces.
