Position description

Position is responsible for ordering equipment, parts, supplies, and services in support of Operations as directed through the use of the SAP ERP system.  Such ordering will be the product of accurate MRP planning for MRO materials with SAP requisitions and purchase orders, an online platform [AGORA], and the P-Card as well as other approved methods from the company.  This role is responsible for improving/maintaining Stockroom inventory, plant consumables, maintenance, repair, and operations support.  This position will work closely with the Site Purchasing Supervisor for direction and guidance in service to the site’s operations through maintenance, engineering and other disciplines.  This role will have planning responsibility for over 1,600 Stockroom inventory items which (at current market costs) are valued at ~$500K, as well as other commodities as specified below and at the discretion of the Purchasing Supervisor.

 

This position’s critical focus is to manage/adapt the stockroom in collaboration with vendors to provide cost effective solutions and timely delivery of required components to maintain the required inventories in order to support operations. 

 

Secondary focus of the role is supporting the Regional Purchasing Manager as a backup for Raw Materials and other categories.  These requirements could arise for both short and long term needs should they arise, as well as training for career advancement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum requirements:
    • High School graduate or GED required.
  • Preferred requirements:
    • 2-year college degree or equivalent in experience or certifications of demonstrated management and responsibilities.
  • Basic computer literacy and accuracy required.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have basic math skills.
  • Time management & organization required.
  • Ability to multitask and service multiple people and priorities.
  • Manage external Vendors performing Vendor Managed Inventories and or Vended Inventory programs
  • Individual must have good change management skills and ability to adapt as business conditions dictate
