Position description


This position coordinates, plans and schedules all preventative, corrective and contract maintenance work orders daily and assures materials are available to complete/perform the needed repairs/improvements. Planner will schedule weekend work for maintenance along with daily work and planned shutdowns. Monthly maintenance reporting is required.


  • Responsible for the safe and efficient utilization of manpower, materials and equipment.
  • Providing leadership and training to indirect and direct employees in support of the key maintenance matrices, safety, quality, service, OEE, 5S, etc..
  • Actively participate in all site safety activities, training, reviews and the promotion of a safe work place
  • Work closely with production to ensure the equipment is maintained to the appropriate standard while ensuring employee safety, equipment and material losses standards are attained
  • Insure maintenance documents and procedure are written, available, followed, reviewed and accurate.
  • Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
  • Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
  • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Keep spare part levels and availability


  • Engineering Degree or Certified Trade Qualification preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years actual hands-on experience in a trade’s supervisory leadership role.
  • Understands and is familiar with SAP, CMMS systems, Preventative Maintenance systems, and the use of relevant Reliability tools to assure efficient operations of equipment.
  • Must understand purchasing procedures and MRO parts distribution and have knowledge of computerized maintenance systems.
  • Experience with ELKE software and/or SAP is preferred but not required.
  • Administrative organization, computer skills, knowledge of the machinery, understanding of the process, troubleshooting/problem solving abilities and sound judgment.
