Material Handler I

POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse/Forklift Operator is responsible for all aspects of loading and unloading of raw materials and finished product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Safely operate a forklift.
• Loading and Unloading Material (53’ vans, rail cars and containers including the (fiber (as of 01/06/2020)) from a dock and outdoor yard during all seasons and weather conditions. Installs padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using forklifts.
• Read and understand what product(s) to select, how to load and unload trucks based off pick documents and bills of landing
• Cycle count inventory weekly or as required
• Follows the Logistics Standard Operating Procedures Support and Maintain Warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles.
• Provides high level Service to Customers and Transportation providers
• Ability to safely lift, carry and stack up to 50lbs.
• Responsible for performing SMATs and/or TFs and be an active participant in all other facility audit, manufacturing and efficiency programs. This includes WCM involvement in projects and/or meetings, as required. Incumbents are responsible for ensuring 5S standards are met and maintained. Incumbent is required to clean, paint, etc. to maintain 5S standards.
• Show initiative through continuous improvement in safety, quality and efficiency of the department by communication

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Qualifications/Skills/Experience

• Must pass a forklift certification test and keep the certification in good standings
• Mobile Warehouse Management Experience / Computer Literacy Required 
• Good oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Excellent Attendance Practices
