Industrial Electrician - Portland

Position description

A leading North American building products manufacturer is seeking highly motivated Electricians and Mechanics to join the maintenance team in our Portland roofing manufacturing facility.


Applicants are REQUIRED to possess:

  • General Journeyman Electrician license
  • Oregon LME
  • Millwright
  • However, we will sponsor and fund an apprenticeship program for all Maintenance Mechanics with extensive experience

Duties:

  • Support continuous manufacturing process with the secondary duty of project and fabrication work. You will participate in troubleshooting repairs in a team-based atmosphere, and repair mechanical equipment, control systems, and light facility work.
  • Work schedules may include weekends and at least part of holiday weekends. You will be compensated with overtime on Saturdays and double time on Sundays.

Compensation:

  • Mechanic I: $29.33, plus shift differential.
  • Electrician LME: $35.70, plus shift differential 
  • Journeyman hourly rate subject to candidate experience.
  • Competitive wage rates beyond base rates depend on experience and qualifications.
  • Annual incentive bonus can be as much as 21% of annual wages.
  • Relocation assistance is not available.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and physical required.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

MUST HAVE:

  • Knowledge in general machinery, welding, fabrication, and hydraulics.
  • Strong background in conveyors, elevators, asphalt pumps, piping, and continuous sheet web manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Electrical experience should include the following: electrical distribution, AC/DC motor theory, sensors, VFDs, PLC troubleshooting, and elementary ladder logic.
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and holidays as required.
