Maintenance Tech Production Lead

Position description

The Maintenance Technician/Prodcuion Lead will assist with the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WMC) projects, production, processing methods and controls while supporting operations and mentoring maintenance personnel.  Will provide leadership in the implementation and support of Plant Automation, Electrical and Database systems.  The Automation Technologist provides support across a broad range of subjects with focus on hydraulics, PLC programming / troubleshooting, and automation programming / troubleshooting.  This position will assist on all maintenance repairs and services.  They also would provide assistance with the day-to-day training of the maintenance departmental personnel, while being able to address and evaluate any unforeseen tasks that may arise with little or no guidance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Job Description:

  • Experience with Allen Bradly electrical components and PLC control systems, process control, instrumentation, automation, and computer.
  • Provides support with focus on hydraulics, PLC programming / troubleshooting and automation programming / troubleshooting
  • Calibrate equipment in accordance to their particular specifications.​
  • Configure and troubleshoot PLC systems.
  • Repair and replace parts on production equipment like saws, pullers, routers, pumps, blowers, motors, loading systems, etc.​
  • Change grinder bed and rotary blades on the PVC grinder.
  • Ability to follow instructions and given responsibly by Plant Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and responsible behavior on the job at all times.
  • Attention to aspects of the production line such as: Safety, code, product, equipment and organization.
  • Effective communication and leadership to all operators under them; will lead a minimum of 9 operators each shift.
  • Technical assistance to new employees and support in training processes; motivate employees to carry out tasks responsibly.
  • Watch and take care of all machines, equipment, tools and plant materials.
  • Support in the production line when is necessary.
  • Identify and report any situation that may affect the equipment, the product and the employee.
  • Always maintain safety standards on the production line.
  • Apply the Finish Line safety uses and work environment organizations.
  • Support in loading and unloading area if necessary.
  • Keep confidentiality all the time.

Additional Requirements

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly is required.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
  • Able to work outdoors during varying weather conditions
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extend periods of time
  • Minimum English language competency to adequately preform duties and responsibilities (written & verbal).
  • Previous lead/manufacturing experience of 3-5 years is highly preferred.

  • Familiar with safety programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with production equipment
  • Experience following protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate within a team environment.
  • Ability to train and retrieve technical information in a fast paced environment.
  • Forklift Experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • MUST be capable of lifting 50lbs repeatedly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, stoop for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work in a non climate controlled environment.
