Position description

Our Material Handler/Forklift Operator is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment while organizing raw materials, rotating finished goods, and operating mobile equipment to load products in and out of the warehouse.

Candidate must have a minimum of two years of forklift experience and is required to demonstrate focused effort relative to their role in the following fundamental areas: Safety Practices, Self-Management, Achieves Business Results, Communication, Solving Problems, Innovative Thinking, Teamwork, Encouraging Customer Focus, Flexibility, and Attendance.

Typical job duties:

Work safely and be actively engaged in site safety programs.

Move materials in support of all operations, and this includes raw materials, finished goods, MRO spares, and waste(s).

Prepare materials for production use.

Efficiently organize raw materials and the organization and rotation of finished goods.

Keep warehouse and production floor safe, clean, and free of debris, prepare lines at shift change, and stock for the incoming shift.

Unload and receive raw materials and UPS shipments.

Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e., work orders), and read and understand specifications for all products. Also, able to read and understand the production schedule and Set-Up Sheets.

Establishes and maintains the highest degree of housekeeping and 5S (Sorting, Straightening, Shining, Standardizing, Sustaining) in all areas.

Work closely with team members to be more efficient, troubleshooting problems and helping find new or better solutions.

Participate in and promote continuous improvement activities.

Interface with maintenance personnel to assist in resolving equipment/process problems daily, and assist the supervisory team

Shift Schedule is fixed with current openings on the following schedule:

Back-End Nights (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,4:30 pm to 5:00 am)

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A High School diploma or GED required

2 years of experience operating a forklift in a safe and efficient manner

Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required

Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computer entry

Minimum English competency to adequately perform duties and responsibilities, both written and verbal
