SageGlass®, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, located in Faribault, MN, produces electronically tintable glass for windows, skylights, and curtain walls. It tints automatically or on demand to control sunlight, without shades or blinds. SageGlass transforms the indoor experience by controlling sunlight to optimize daylight, outdoor views and comfort while preventing glare, fading and overheating without the need for blinds or shades.

We are NOW hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to work alongside our talented Engineering Team!

What’s the job?

The Electrical Design Engineer will contribute to the product development group at SageGlass working closely with a group of electrical, mechanical and software engineers to design and support control systems for electrochromic glass.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in the develop of new embedded control products, from conceptual design through product testing and implementation in manufacturing
  • Participates in the development and execution of test plans for electrical and mechanical products
  • Provides support for supply chain by identifying component substitutes and alternates
  • Implement cost saving and process improvement efforts
  • Develops internal processes to support effective and efficient product development
  • Ability to travel to customer sites 5% of the time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • 3+ years previous embedded design experience within a product development group preferred
  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes
  • Analog, digital and embedded design experience
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and solve issues. Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Desire to learn and apply new concepts quickly
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse teams
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient with using a computer/technology, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Desired to have experience in software programming
  • Relatable experience in a new product development group preferred
