SageGlass®, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, located in Faribault, MN, produces electronically tintable glass for windows, skylights, and curtain walls. It tints automatically or on demand to control sunlight, without shades or blinds. SageGlass transforms the indoor experience by controlling sunlight to optimize daylight, outdoor views and comfort while preventing glare, fading and overheating without the need for blinds or shades.

We are NOW hiring a Software Engineer - Controls to work alongside an outstanding team of Engineers out to change the world!

What’s the job?

Develop and support SageGlass’ cloud platform designated for customer and diagnostic use.  Additionally, develop and support SageGlass’ web-based controls project design and setup tools. The Controls Development team values collaboration, teamwork, transparency, and learning quickly. This is will a hybrid position.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and support SageGlass cloud platform
  • Develop and support SageGlass web-based controls project design and setup tools 
  • Consult with SageGlass customer support personnel to assist in resolving customer issues
  • Participate in regular project planning and retrospective activities - provide regular updates on progress
  • Work on a team to develop system architecture, requirements and test cases from product-level requirements
  • Travel to customer sites, interact with customers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

What do you bring?

  • HS Diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent is preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in design and support of cloud systems, TCP/IP networks, and databases
  • 3+ years' experience developing and supporting customer-facing software products
  • 5+ years' experience working on project teams
  • 3+ years' experience solving technical problems 
  • 2+ years' of cloud development on leading platform such as Azure or AWS
  • Knowledge of scripting for building and deploying software solutions
  • Skilled in object-oriented languages such as python, C#, and/or Java
  • Relational Database Experience such as Oracle, SQL, Postgres
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Experience leading small project teams a plus
  • Experienced with IP Networking:  Configuration/Routing/Security preferred
  • Familiarity with version-control best practices with tools such as Git, SVN or CVS preferred
  • Familiarity with Docker preferred
  • Agile/SCRUM development background helpful
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals & Associate certification preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time including regional, national, or international travel
