Position description

The Saint-Gobain Boron Nitride manufacturing site in Amherst, NY is looking for an intern/co-op who is available for a part-time engineering/supply chain internship!  The manufacturing Internship with Saint-Gobain provides professional development opportunities and valuable applied learning in a manufacturing production setting.  Under the direction of a Manager, this individual will be focused on assistance with the implementation of a new Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system - QAD.  This individual will be involved in work order processing, creation of training documentation, training of manufacturing production workers, and implementation of the MRP system.  The intern will work in conjunction with the planning, production, quality, and engineering team members.

This is an opportunity for an intern to get exposure to various aspects that they have learned in the classroom with the real-life experiences of activities at Saint-Gobain Boron Nitride, which has a worldwide presence.

This position requires an understanding & utilization of the principles and theories of the discipline and their application that might normally be acquired through a pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering, industrial engineering, or supply chain discipline.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student in good academic standing
  • Must be junior-level undergraduate or graduate student, or equivalent experience
  • Must have ability to work February – July approximately 20 hours per week
  • You possess the ability to work safely and effectively within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to be proactive and display self-initiative.
  • Previous industrial experience or manufacturing knowledge is a plus. 
  • Previous material requirement planning experience is a plus.a
