Title: Maintenance Engineer Co-Op

Region: CertainTeed – Gypsum (Silver Grove)

Hourly rate: $18.18 - $24.25 + housing allowance

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Engineering Co-Op’s objective is to assist the plant to ensure that all gypsum wallboard and joint compound produced meets plant, customer, industry, and government requirements efficiently and effectively. Work alongside the maintenance department on all stages of job completion, including planning, performance, and follow-up. Assist the reliability and project engineers in the implementation of new applicable standard practices and design improvements. Actively assist with small capital projects with the creation of CAD drawings.

  • Data is presented clearly and logically.
  • Conclusions reflect the data and known theory and are stated clearly.
  • Anomalies are noted and discussed.
  1. Recommendations for improving performance
  • Procedure and cost estimate for reclaim processing, recompletions and facilities
  • Production and performance anomalies
  • Analogies
  • Team members and management are satisfied that:
  • Production will be economically increased.
  • The company can implement the project safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Recommendation is presented by the agreed-upon deadline.
  • All applicable and cost effective best practices are being utilized

Qualification Profile:

  • Engineering student with some understanding of tolerances/specifications
  • Understands data analysis and reporting
  • 1 or more years of experience in engineering studies.
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional degree.
