Position description

Position: Manufacturing Tech Temp (this is a temporary assignment with a temp to hire opportunity)

Department: Production

Location: Gaithersburg, MD 

Work Schedule: 4/10 shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM

The Manufacturing Technician will execute entry level production duties with supervision in the manufacturing of custom products used in cell and gene therapy clinical trials, critical applications in final fill assemblies, and molded components in ISO 7 and ISO 8 cleanrooms. 

  • Ability to perform entry level work station activities. Technicians will assemble components through use of hand tools or manual hand assembly.
  • Follow SOPS/Work Instructions/drawings with guidance.
  • Demonstrate basic problem identification and able to escalate accordingly
  • Basic understanding and ability to document production activities in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)/Factivity
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of safety, follow site safety protocols and activities, and conduct safety observations.
  • Comply to cGMP and QMS requirements, demonstrating basic understanding
  • Minimal participation in quality events.
  • Meet production output expectations.
  • Follow 5s principles and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrate good time management and comply with the site's attendance policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school (or equivalent) diploma is required.
  • At least 1 year of work experience working in a team-based organization.
  • Good communications skills. Ability to read, write and interpret written and/or verbal instructions (English)
  • Basic computer skills (ability to use basic keyboard and mouse functions and navigate internet and applications)
  • Must have sufficient hand and eye coordination, manual dexterity, and near and farsighted vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Basic math skills required (arithmetic and measurements)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and work independently with supervision.

  • Basic logical reasoning skills.

Saint-Gobain Life Sciences in Gaithersburg, Maryland is a state-of-the-art Life Science manufacturing facility.  We produce cell culture bags, fluid transfer assemblies, single use assemblies and injection molded products in our ISO 7 and ISO 8 cleanrooms.  We make a difference in the world by changing how we treat diseases through the manufacture of custom products used in cell and gene therapy clinical trials and manufacturing.  We also support biopharmaceutical applications through the production of critical application final fill assemblies, molded components and other pharmaceutical applications.

  • Implementation of automation for bag fabrication, molding and assembly 
  • Advancing sterilization programs and environmental controls

  • Significant building modifications and addition of new injection molding equipment 
  • Expansion of cell therapy bag product lines
