Position description

This position is responsible for the full range of territory management activities associated with servicing a customer base and for identifying and developing new business opportunities.  This geographical territory encompasses end users from the Automotive, Particleboard and Plywood, Stainless Steel, Foundry, Cutting Tools and Medical markets.  A thorough understanding of the PSP process and value analysis is a must for this territory. Disciplines in Bonded, Coated, Superabrasives and Thin Wheel are required.  Responsibilities will also include working closely and coordinating with Application Engineers, Product Managers and other Saint-Gobain Abrasives personnel in an effort to successfully convert competitive opportunities.

Key measures of performance are sales, relationship building, proposing & implementing sales growth programs, and uncovering new opportunities.  Some overnight travel required.


This position requires an individual with a proven track record managing either a geographical industrial accounts or Specific End User accounts. Strong technical background in Bonded, Superabrasives, Coated, and Surface Finishing is strongly preferred.  Excellent organizational skills are required.  A Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience is required. This position requires a person to be highly motivated, who is a self-starter, creative, personable, team player and can succeed with limited direction. A minimum of 2-5 years of value added technical sales experience in all abrasive applications would be very desirable attributes for individuals who are interested in this position.  The incumbent should have proven sales and marketing skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written. Proven analytical, negotiating problem-solving and organizational skills are necessary.

Other required skills include working with distributor salespeople, providing training presentations and demonstrations, regular planning & full engagement of the CRM tool and pipeline process. The incumbent will need to be capable in all Microsoft Office software, web applications, contact management database software and other forms of data mining and analysis.

Additional description

A geographic location in W TN, E AR, and N MS marketplace. It may be ideal for incumbent to reside in Northern MS or in the suburbs of Memphis.
