National Account Manager (NAM) - Hardware Retailers

This position will support the Retail National Accounts organization to better target, implement, and accelerate the opportunities and development of high-profile National Hardware distributors at a corporate level, which result in significant sales growth for Saint-Gobain Abrasives (SGA). The incumbent will specifically focus on directing all activities leading to increased share gain and strategically positioning SGA for long-term growth.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing & maintaining key senior management relationships including executive level (Corporate V.P. Level, Category Merchants, etc.)
- Extensive documentation & reporting, critical path development, and strategic planning.
- Strong coordination & communications with SGA functional & project teams.
- External communications involving senior retailers' stakeholders.
- Communications with SGA senior management in Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Business Units and Finance leadership.
A solid working relationship and communication channel must be maintained with Customer Service, Supply Chain & Planning, all Business Units Management, Field Sales Management and Senior Sales & Marketing Management. High travel will be required to corporate locations in North America to present, assess, and discuss; (a) business objectives, (b) progress, (c) resource requirements, and, (d) corporate alignment and program integration. He or she will be empowered and required to make decisions in the best interest of implementing SGA's program strategies and communicating the value of SGA as the leading solutions provider, to consumers and Pros, across multiple retailers' departments. He or she will be empowered and required to deploy conversion plans with Field Sales Management and accelerate the field deployment of corporate programs. Internal collaborations will require strong leadership and the organizational skills necessary to resolve problems and develop solutions that will influence key decision-makers and their buying decisions.
This position requires a BS degree in business or marketing, an MBA would be a plus.. The National Account Manager must possess the skills to coordinate, interact, and permeate all levels of management. The incumbent must have the ability to manage highly complex activities and the necessary credibility to elicit constructive dialogue at a senior management level. Candidates should be able to successfully manage; long-term planning, tracking, and reporting. The NAM must further have the ability to articulate SGA’s interests in a high-performance environment using progressive selling skills along with joint process development and collaborative techniques. Analytical and project management skills are a must. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be computer literate, and have extremely strong presentation acumen. Must be skilled leading multi-functional groups and confident working with senior leadership. Must be comfortable with omni-channel strategies and e-Commerce requirements from a retailer's standpoint. Experience in MRO distribution is a plus. The position requires 50% - 70% travel.
