The candidate is responsible for a full range of account management activities associated with selling and servicing a geographic, business development territory comprised of medium to large distribution and end users in the Industrial channel as well as growing sales in the Construction market. This territory has significant growth potential in a wide variety of applications. Market segments are exceptionally diverse with a focus on Commercial and Military Shipbuilding and Refurbishing, Bearing, Metal Fab, Aerospace, Heavy Metals and General Industrial market applications. The candidate would work closely with traditional industrial National distribution and Construction Rental and Contractor distribution. Cost saving activities and documentation as well as opportunities development and execution are critical.
The geography encompasses Richmond VA east into the Tidewater areas of Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach VA.
This position requires an individual with a proven track record who is a self-starter, highly motivated, creative, personable team player and can work effectively and autonomously. A Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience is required. The incumbent should have proven sales and marketing skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written. Proven analytical, negotiating problem-solving and organizational skills are necessary. This means the incumbent must be skilled at working with & cultivating relationships with Industrial and Construction distribution in the territory. Skills required include working with distributor salespeople, training presentations & demonstrations and regular planning & review of target account growth plans. Skills also include assessing, testing and converting competitive abrasive applications. The candidate shall be capable in all Microsoft Office software, web applications, contact management database software, Microstrategy, and other forms of data analysis.
