Why do we need you ?
The Estimator II is responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive material takeoffs using OST and/or Bluebeam Revu while leveraging a broad understanding of our product portfolio. This role involves calculating pricing through various Excel-based configurators, generating formal quotations and budget proposals within our ERP system, and fostering strong working relationships with regional sales representatives.
The Estimator II will manage estimating responsibilities for designated territories across the United States and Canada. In addition to core estimating duties, this role includes gathering competitive intelligence and analyzing market share within assigned regions.
- Strategically evaluates and prioritizes bidding opportunities to maximize impact and efficiency
- Prepares formal bids and quotations using the company’s ERP system with accuracy and timeliness
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and consistently delivers high-quality performance
- Thoroughly analyzes all aspects of project scope that may influence cost, including potential scope changes
- Gathers and applies market and project intelligence to develop competitive pricing strategies
- Collaborates closely with Independent Manufacturer’s Representatives [IMRs], Architectural Solution Managers [ASMs], distributors, and subcontractors to produce comprehensive project estimates.
- Generates material takeoffs in On-screen Takeoff [preferred] and/or Bluebeam Revu.
- Maintains a strong understanding of the full product portfolio, with a focus on modified products
- Tracks bid opportunities using internal tools such as excel spreadsheets and CRM software
- Effectively manages workload to ensure timely delivery of bids and budget proposals
- Creates and maintains close, trusting relationships with customers and potential customers.
- Establishes credibility and influence within the market while expanding the customer base
- Supports the development of junior Estimators (Estimator 1s) with training, shadowing, and reviews.
- Collaborates with sales, production, product management, purchasing, and others across the CertainTeed business to win large “landmark” projects.

-HS Diploma or GED - Required
-Bachelor's Degree Construction, Architecture, or Related Field - Preferred
Work Experience (State the minimum for the position for required experience):
-Estimating 5-10 years in Construction or Building Products Industry - Required
