Position description

We are looking for a Quality Engineering Technician to join us at our facility in Olyphant, PA! In this role, the Quality Engineering Technician will conduct quality assurance audits of new and existing processes and products, detect quality problems, monitor and record the results from processes and procedures, compare the results to predetermined ranges, and takes corrective measures to improve operational processes when measurements are found to deviate from standards.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required of the Quality Assurance Technician:

  • Reviews finished materials and quality testing results to determine certification.
  • Must read and interpret product specification sheets to review proper testing procedures and results.  
  • Enters data in process tracking system to include customer specifications, certifications and testing results.
  • Uses specialized equipment to perform material and product testing.
  • Follows work orders and standard operating procedures to review quality control test results for conformance with predetermined specifications prior to certification.
  • Documents and reports on non-conforming materials for further review by QA Manager.
  • Utilizes effective written and verbal communication skills to relay and report quality assurance data.
  • Schedules calibrations with maintenance or outside vendor and updates maintenance schedule.  May be trained to perform simple calibrations without external assistance.
  • Maintains inventory of testing materials to ensure adequate testing materials are available.
  • May recommend testing procedures for trial orders or new customers.
  • Recommends potential actions and alternatives to supervisor.
  • Understands and adheres to all company safety specifications related to the use of equipment, chemicals, and other materials.


  • Associate degree in Electro-mechanical related field is required.
  • Two to three years’ quality assurance work experience in a technical production environment with understanding of statistics may offset the educational requirement.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data reporting.
  • Training time is typically up to 6 – 12 months to be proficient with equipment and all phases of the job to work independently.
