SageGlass is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer as a key contributor to embedded software projects in the product development group, working closely with other engineers to design and support control systems for electrochromic glass. The applicable software products include both internal applications and end-user products.

Ideal candidates are Team Players motivated to implement and improve processes, tools, and techniques in order to reduce engineering costs and to improve quality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop new functionality and products for internal customers and end-users
  • Lead software engineering efforts on projects with minimal supervision
  • Assist in defining requirements, system design, and software architecture
  • Provide task breakdowns and estimates on new projects
  • Interface with software test, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineers
  • Assist Engineering Support in root cause analysis of field issues, as needed
  • Mentor  junior or entry level Engineers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in embedded software design and implementation
  • Experience with:
  • Implementing and debugging IP networking and security standards, such as:
  • HTTPS, TCP/IP, TLS, DHCP, etc.
  • Low-level communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, etc.
  • Bare-metal and object-oriented software design and implementation
  • Embedded operating systems, such as: FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Integrity, etc.
  • Semaphores, mutexs, and interrupts
  • Highly skilled with C and/or C++
  • Skilled in version control best-practices with Git (preferred), SVN, CVS, or similar
  • High-level familiarity with integrated development environments, such as: Eclipse, Visual Studio
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with engineering tools, such as:
  • Breakpoints, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.

Additional Applicable Skills:

  • Linux: kernel configuration, kernel modules / drivers, troubleshooting
  • Shell, PowerShell, and/or Bash scripting
  • Board design and schematic review
  • Agile/SCRUM development
