The Materials Planning Supervisor will be responsible for the planning and procurement of fiberglass yarn, chemicals, and other raw materials for the Albion, NY plant to meet production needs and customer demand. The incumbent will manage the purchasing function for the Albion site to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction while minimizing inventory investment.
This person will interface with a variety of cross functional teams in their role, such as the Albion manufacturing facility to perform deliveries, responding to supply chain emergencies, providing order status, current backlogs, and providing feedback and recommendations for anticipated staffing requirements for effective operation and balance workloads. They will also create purchase requisitions for all products required from 3rd party suppliers based on MRP data for current inventory, forecasted demand, open orders, and safety stocks, while also working closely with the purchasing team to relay information on expedited items, priority levels, and newly created requisitions.
The Materials Planning Supervisor will handle purchase orders for intercompany material transfers based on MRP data analysis and material availability and communicate the material movement details to all plants involved. They will ensure obsolete or partially shipped purchase orders are cancelled and communicate purchase order status to the plants to ensure our records are in agreement. Review of MRP master data for accuracy and consistency is an important aspect of the job.
This position requires approximately 20% travel to the manufacturing plants.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred. Five (5) plus years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge is required with a working knowledge of SAP. Lean manufacturing skills preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license for travel to the manufacturing plants.
