Position description

The Product Manager, Adhesives & Sealants requires advanced technical knowledge and abilities in Product Management.  The incumbent is considered the technical expert for the engineering and marketing applications involved and is frequently called upon for direct sales contact with customers.  The incumbent must also be agile at teaching, trouble shooting, and providing marketing leadership on product applications, technology and design, markets, competitive situations, and product profitability.

Product Technical Leadership

  • Provide market leadership and technical support to achieve the sales and profit goals for the assigned businesses, and to assist in preparing an annual business plan for the product line
  • Leads and collaborates with product development teams (Tekbond Brazil and Join Leader) in developing the product portfolio, including developing differentiated and innovative products to meet business strategic and financial goals.
  • Guide and coordinate efforts of the regional R&D technical business teams and provide primary technical interaction with internal groups (Tekbond Brazil and Join Leader) to insure product meets performance and quality expectations
  • Develops and executes multi-generational product plans that align with current and evolving market and technology trends. Including new product development and product life cycle management
  • Provide guidance relating to NAM product governance and regulatory compliance, working closely with SG EHS group. Ensuring products remain in compliance is critical to the development of sustainable profitable revenue growth
  • Ensure product strategies deliver maximum value by setting and delivering the diverse product plan and managing the performance of current and new products throughout the product life cycle
  • Synthesize product strategies aligned to market strategies and technical, sales channels, EHS compliance, supply chain, and distribution capabilities
  • Develop business justification for investing in product development
  • Drive cross-channel execution of product initiatives and successful market introduction
  • Collaborate with procurement and Supply Chain/Logistics/DCE – to insure we have a robust S&OP plan in place to manage inventory (never out of A&B products) effective DG handling process, and reduce risk of expired inventory.

Sales Development

  • Identify market opportunities and position product/program offerings to best serve the markets – Consumer. DIY, Construction, MRO/Industrial and AA/Mechanical expansion
  • Produce training materials for field sales team for the assigned products, applications and customer support tools
  • Provide sales forecasts and market information based on technical resources and expertise for current and future oriented markets and applications of Tekbond products
  • Develop and launch new products and identify packaging, compliance, labelling needs – trilingual language to be sold in Canada and US
  • Execute goals for external networking to build partnerships and collaborative relationships with customers, vendors, ASI, and other trade associations, and industry experts to more quickly and effectively deliver innovation and expansion results
  • Able to lead search and identify  select resource/partner with local Adhesives/sealant distribution/manufacturing (in US) to provide additional product options for resale within portfolio

Gather, analyze and interpret external and internal data i.e. competitive market, trends, economic factors, pricing

  • Product pricing management including, initial price based on market price, price increases over life and product obsolescence
  • Working with marketing/commercial teams, continual analysis and understanding of the competitive situation, including trends, packaging concepts, substitute technologies, to enhance and create future value propositions.
  • Identifies opportunities to collaborate with external partners, suppliers and research institutes, to advance execution of the innovative product developments for the Technical Industrial markets
  • Collect and synthesize customer needs and requirements (VOC – Voice of Customer) into product
  • Establish product roadmaps across the product life cycle



Education Level

Education Details


Bachelor’s or MS Degree

In Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant field

MBA is a distinct advantage




Experience Details

5+ years successful Product Management  experience in adhesive, sealants and coatings materials

Full understanding of adhesives and sealants applications, chemistry


Industrial experience in product development

Cross-functional experience is a plus
