SageGlass®, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, located in Faribault, MN, produces electronically tintable glass for windows, skylights, and curtain walls. It tints automatically or on demand to control sunlight, without shades or blinds. SageGlass transforms the indoor experience by controlling sunlight to optimize daylight, outdoor views and comfort while preventing glare, fading and overheating without the need for blinds or shades.

What’s the job?

We are NOW hiring a Product Manager for our Software, Services, and Controls!

The Product Manager will have focus and expertise on software, services, and controls executing the long-term vision and strategy for SageGlass products. The right candidate will communicate the strategy to all relevant stakeholders, and will orchestrate the execution of product lifecycle management across multiple functions.

Essential Functions:

  • Classic product lifecycle management of existing portfolio and new product roadmap ownership
  • Market sizing, customer segmentation, needs identification, value propositions, solution ideation and specification
  • Keep cross-functional team members hooked and aligned to the SageGlass vision and mission, especially during times of market ambiguity and competitive disruption
  • Clear communication of product plans and benefits to a spectrum of audiences – internal and external stakeholders
  • Critical member of innovation funnel and roadmap prioritization process
  • Provide commercial team support for technical product inquiries related to software services and controls
  • Inject internal and external evidence-based decision-making into product lifecycle and roadmap planning – drive market research as well as solution testing methodologies during the development process
  • Be incredibly truth seeking – solicit and embrace critical feedback
  • Competitive authority on behalf of the organization for software services and controls
  • Account for competitive intelligence when creating differentiated solutions and value propositions
  • Provide sales tools to combat the competition
  • Ensure highest chance of successful outcomes with NPD by following the stage gate process to ensure all bases of development and launch planning are aligned with all stakeholders (sales, engineering, operations, finance, marketing, customers)
  • Provide clear value props, target segments and training tools to Marketing and Sales for launch execution
  • Monitor and measure launched products to feed learning back into NPDs
  • Maximize profitability through price differentiation based on solution value and target segments
  • Own and maintain pricing matrix for software services and controls

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor's in business, marketing, or engineering related degree is required
  • MBA preferred
  • 3+ years in classic product management within a technical field
  • 2+ years in product development and launch within the product management function delivering highly successful and innovative solutions
  • 2+ years in hardware, mobile app, and cloud interaction modeling preferred
  • Ability to block diagram an architecture of technical components
  • Glass and building construction industry knowledge helpful
  • The skill to distill and articulate your target markets, segments, and drivers
  • Stellar design instincts and product taste
  • Ability to make strategic decisions on make versus buy or partner for every product on the roadmap
