Saint Gobain North America (SGNA) is looking for an experienced professional for the Process Sustainability and Energy Manager available in the Malvern, PA location. This individual will be responsible for creating, leading, developing, implementing and measuring a demand-side energy, water, waste, & CO2 program for SGNA. This position will service most, if not all of SGNA’s businesses, and will serve as a backup resource and influence to the energy procurement activities. This position requires the ability to successfully combine interrelated elements in different ways, involving multiple engineering disciplines, plant processes, utility regulations, and financial principals. 

  • Champion efforts for culture change within the corporation to improve internal perceptions of the value of energy, water, waste, & CO2 reduction. 
  • Provide expertise and guidance for Saint-Gobain companies to identify and communicate project opportunities and establish policies and procedures relative to energy, water, waste, & CO2 reduction best practices. 
  • Using product and process life cycle data and business strategy goals, identify, evaluate, and implement energy, water, waste, & CO2 projects and services to achieve the desired financial and operational results for each business, as well as market specific opportunities based on life cycle environmental consumption reductions.
  • Partner with activity level business representation on SG consumption reduction goals and give direction to, and work with NA regional and business specific EHS Managers, site and business specific energy, water and waste champions, and site level managers for implementation.
  • Develop internal reporting to facilitate benchmarking and establishment of best-in-class practices relative to energy, water, waste, and CO2 reduction.
  • Publish regular KPIs to measure site performance and drive performance improvement.
  • Drive savings through the organization, develop best practices, and demonstrate market incentives associated with life cycle impact reductions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an energy or sustainability role/organization focused on environmental programs.
  • MS, MBA or equivalent work experience is not required, but strongly preferred.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is not required, but strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with specific energy reduction and environmental program focused roles are highly preferred.
  • Candidates must be familiar with manufacturing environments and common industrial process equipment.
  • Minimum of 25% travel for North America plant visits.
