The Human Resources Manager develops or administers policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as recruiting & employment, compensation, labor relations, safety, benefits, training and employee relations by performing the following functions. Support a safe working environment in area of responsibility at all times. Correct or report unsafe acts or conditions through appropriate channels of resolution.


  • Assure that facility is in compliance with all federal, state and local legal requirements and that all required reports are prepared and

  • Coordinate, through the HR & Safety Supervisor, the administration of a proactive safety

  • Administer the labor agreement and develop interpretations of intent, spirit and terms of contract to counsel management and supervision in development and application of labor relations policies and

  • Verify adherence to terms of labor agreement by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working

  • Coordinates the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of employees to fill vacant positions.

  • Administers benefit program and addresses issues related to the services

  • Oversees all Training programs within the facility and monitors their progress and effectiveness.

  • Supports Plant Manager is the administration of Performance Reviews, Organization Analysis, and Salary

  • Work with first line supervisors to develop their skills.


  • Develop and administer department budget.

Supervisory responsibilities:  3 direct reports

Travel: minimal

Typical plant working conditions: fast-paced environment, seasonal temperatures, noise levels, dust, and moving machinery


“Your Skills Matter”

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or other relevant field required.


  • Six to eight years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a union environment, with in-depth knowledge of labor laws/compliance, as well as government regulations. The incumbent must have a solid understanding of the NLRA and its effect on functioning in a union environment


  • Strong understanding of organizational development, compensation systems, benefit administration, safety programs, and training.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
