Job Description:

The VIE will be responsible for the management of Fixed Assets and reporting, improving internal business processes to support the NA growth/profitability model for Sage globally (reducing overrun and scrap, and analysis on variances), timely month end close process (i.e. GJE's/reconciliations), and assisting the Controller with the ICRF by having systems and procedures in place to comply and meet all internal audit requirements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in a timely month-end close (Journals & Reconciliations) to ensure alignment of the BU/Regional/Global deadlines, Operational reporting (variances, Inventory), and prepare general journal entries/reconciliations (as needed/required),
  • Assist in Internal Financial reporting & analysis (Monthly OPS report – Operational analysis of scrap, overrun, variances, Inventory analysis),
  • Lead ICFR process & Segregation of Duties, systems/access controls,
  • Manage Fixed Assets and ensure the annual physical & fixed asset counts are properly conducted and adhere to the set policies/procedures for the BU,
  • Perform full physical count of the Fixed Assets,
  • Support internal/external auditors,
  • Long Range/Strategic Planning,
  • Recommend action plans to address gaps.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance,
  • Experience in manufacturing environment with a focus on cost accounting,
  • Solid verbal & written communication, analytical, systemic thinking & leadership skills,
  • Ability to multi-task,
  • Project management skills – execution oriented and rigorous in meeting performance commitments,
  • Strong fundamental “know-how” in accounting/finance/business related topics,
  • Prior experience in utilizing an ERP system is an asset for this position (SAP, QAD, ORACLE).
