The Finance Internship with Saint-Gobain provides professional development opportunities and valuable applied learning in a manufacturing environment.  In working for Saint-Gobain at our Portage, WI manufacturing plant, you will have the opportunity to be independently responsible for designing and implementing one or more projects to further the site’s Finance continuous improvement goals.  Other routine Finance tasks may be additionally assigned. Some projects will require a significant amount of time spent on the production floor.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Complete one or more projects in the following areas: invoice auditing and statement reconciliation, general documentation updates and process review/streamlining, fixed asset inventory, capital project organization and process optimization.
  • Project management tasks will consist of project design, implementation plan, data collection, data analysis, presentation/report writing and a final presentation to senior management. 
  • Additional duties will include working with internal finance team, corporate teams and outside vendors.
  • Assisting with day to day Finance activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

What you will bring:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Natural appetite for solving problems
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with common software tools and working relational databases
  • Introductory knowledge of accounting principles
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Excel experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Successfully completed 2+ semesters of Accounting and/or Finance coursework

Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.  Candidates with no prior working experience are welcome to apply, however relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment will be advantageous.
