Who are we ?

This role is working with Saint-Gobain PAM based at our Holwell foundry based in Melton Mowbray, PAM is the premier manufacturer and supplier of ductile iron and cast iron products to the UK's Civil Construction industry.

An exciting opportunity has come available for a Mechanically Bias Technician/Craftsman/Engineer to join us on a full time permanent basis. You will be welcomed in to an experienced, friendly team and have the have the opportunity to be involved in exciting upcoming engineering innovations with an offer of training and development.  

The fundamentals of this opportunity are to restore, improve & maintain plant equipment in order to achieve optimum performance, while working safely at all times.

We operate a four week shift pattern: Rotating Days, Nights, Afters and one weekend shift in four.

  • Actively support & contribute to the site EHS culture and standards
  • Working within a professional maintenance programme to maximise plant reliability
  • Team working with other maintenance and operations personnel
  • Reacting to plant unplanned stops – fault finding and timely repair, reporting of data, and root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures.
  • Actively participating in a continuous improvement culture, driving towards improving our World Class Manufacturing standards.


What kind of person are we looking for?

First and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working. Does the following criteria sound like you?

  • Previous experience maintaining mechanical plant equipment (Conveyors, Pumps, Gearboxes, Couplings & Bearing replacement, Welding, Fabrication etc)
  • Knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
  • Competent to work safely on mechanical tasks and installations.
  • Experience of working in a World Class Maintenance Department.
