Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias/multi skilled)

Dudley, West Midlands 

Are you someone who is passionate about the continuous maintenance and improvement of automated manufacturing environments?

 At our Glassolutions site in Dudley, we are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to support the delivery of continuous, fault-free manufacturing and site improvement work. 

 You will be working on a rotating shift basis of mornings, afternoons, and nights, predominantly Monday to Friday with one Saturday morning per month. 

 You will be supporting and ensuring continuous, fault-free manufacturing through the application of effective preventative maintenance activities utilising a digital CMMS system.  In addition, you will be tasked with the application of your fault-finding skills to address and rectify equipment failures across the site.  We are looking for Engineers able to apply route cause analysis and deploy effective solutions to plant machinery issues, reducing downtime and improving plant performance and reliability.  Our facility is equipped with modern, PLC-controlled, automated plant machinery including a recent £1.5m plant investment so experience in the maintenance, fault finding, and repair of similar equipment, utilising PLC systems is highly desirable. 

We operate to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles across our business.  Experience with WCM or similar LEAN or continuous improvement-based methodologies would be a distinct advantage.

What we’re looking for: 

  • Ideally apprentice trained in electrical/maintenance engineering or qualified to a minimum of NVQ3 in an electrical/maintenance subject.
  • Great fault-finding skills in automated electromechanical machinery.
  • Experience in the application of route cause analysis and TPM principles would be an advantage.
  • An ability to fault find in PLC equipment would be great (we are not looking for a programmer).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A flexible attitude to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
