Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias)

Saint Gobain Glassolutions – Dudley

3 Shift system, mornings, afternoons, and nights with one Saturday in 4.

Although we do require someone that has ideally completed an electrical or multi-skilled engineering/maintenance apprenticeship, a positive attitude and a commitment to your learning and development are most important and other routes to qualification will be considered. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer, able to demonstrate experience in reactive and preventative maintenance activities in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.  It would be great if you have a background in our sector but if you haven’t worked in this industry, that’s okay, we will support your learning to help you develop with us.

What is the core purpose of the role?

You will be supporting and ensuring continuous, fault free manufacturing through the application of effective preventative maintenance activities utilising a digital CMMS system.  In addition, you will be tasked with the application of your fault finding skills to address and rectify equipment failures across the site.  We are looking for Engineers able to apply route cause analysis and deploy effective solutions to plant machinery issues, reducing downtime and improving plant performance and reliability.  Our facility is equipped with modern, PLC controlled, automated plant machinery including a recent £1.5m plant investment so experience in the maintenance, fault finding, and repair of similar equipment, utilising PLC systems is highly desirable. 

We operate to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles across our business.  Experience with WCM or similar LEAN or continuous improvement based methodologies would be a distinct advantage.
