How will you support us?  

As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for maintenance and improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes. Support the area of site with ownership of plant and equipment. You will work with engineering, manufacturing and technical colleagues to improve plant uptime and product quality and ensure our customers are served on time.


Typical tasks you can expect include; 

  • Maintain and where appropriate improve glass manufacturing equipment and the mechanical engineering capability and service on site.
  • Develop and implement process and system improvements to increase cost effectiveness, systems reliability and performance of the Eggborough operations of Saint-Gobain Glass UK.
  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of approved capital projects ensuring cost parameters, quality engineering parameters and time frames are set and achieved.
  • Comply with statutory requirements such as health and safety, the environment, other appropriate legislation and with social responsibilities.

  • Experience within a similar type role within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience within mechanical engineering
  • Strong planning and organising skills
